Apophyllite occurs as a secondary mineral in basic igneous (volcanic) rocks and usually as white through to pale green crystals. The tops of the crystals form small pyramids which appear reflective. The most well known area for Apophyllites is Northern India but they can also be found in Northern Scotland.
