South African Collection

Welcome to our range of tumblestones from South Africa; the birthplace of the tumblestone.

Africa boasts a rich gemstone and mineral wealth and was the first country to develop and refine the art of tumble polishing in the sixties. We work closely with a small family-run tumbling factory in South Africa that has 25 years experience and a wide range of over 40 domestic conscientiously sourced stones. The stock that we receive has been loosely sized by sieves straight out of 1 tonne tumbling barrels.
Due to local geology, South African tumblestones tend to be elongated and thin (expect more per KG). See individual products for more information.

Please note that these stocks are sold 'as they come'  and have not been sized and graded. All sizes quoted are approximate and merely as a guide to our customers. There is up to 25% foreign material mixed in with some of the individual stone types. In order to keep the price low, our supplier has decided to provide the material without removing other coloured stones (which would normally be done by hand). We have therefore also decided to provide this material 'as it comes'.
